What skills will I bring to the day?

Please select your preferred interest and/or skill that you would like to be involved in on the day.

  • Customer Service Superstar - I love a good chat! I enjoy meeting and greeting seniors, helping guests find their way, answering questions, and being that friendly face people can turn to. Examples: Registration desk, seating guests, assisting at ticket box office, floating to support seniors, helping with walker storage, escorting groups to buses, and working with the Student Production Team.
  • Behind-the-Scenes Ninja - I’m happiest working quietly in the background. Give me the jobs that keep everything running smoothly without the spotlight! Examples: Admin tasks, record-keeping (e.g. medical incidents), and monitoring the live stream.
  • Runner Extraordinaire - Need something done quickly? I’m your person! I love getting my steps up and being outdoors. Examples: Running jobs between venues, assisting with wheelchair hire and escorts, and supporting Events staff.
  • Operational Helper - I’m hands-on, I love pitching in, and I’m all about setup, pack down, and rolling up my sleeves to get things done. Examples: Assisting exhibitors bump-in and bump-out, delivering programs, and helping with wheelchairs and signage.
  • Detail Detective - Nothing gets past me! I’ve got an eye for detail and I enjoy the smaller, finer tasks that make the event shine. Examples: Ticketing support, auditing and reporting (e.g. private coaches).
  • Central Station Guide - I know Central Station, Chinatown and Darling Harbour like the back of my hand and I’m happy to guide seniors to and from the venue with confidence. Examples: Station concourse support, handing out water, directing to light rail/coach/walking routes, and wayfinding along the route.
  • Leadership Legend - I’m confident, organised and calm under pressure. I can coordinate volunteers, support staff, help solve problems on the spot and keep the day running smoothly with a smile. Examples: Coordinating small teams of volunteers and students, liaising with suppliers and operators, and attending medical incidents alongside Events staff and 1300 Medics.

What role will I play on the day?
Please note, this is a guide. We will do our best to allocate accordingly but some roles won't be guaranteed.
